I put my new shoes on!

So today I got to cash my first check from Firefly! Yea! I am saving most of it (you'll see why later) but, I did spend a little bit on some new shoes. These shoes I have been wanting for AWHILE and it is so funny that I get them the day after Brooke leaves because she was my inspiration for these shoes!

So these are my new Merrell sandals! They buckle in the back and have a heel cover with the same blue stitching that is is on the top of the sandal. I love my new shoes, they are so comfy! Plus, it was a deal...These shoes were priced $76.00 but, I got them today for $37.00 Whoo hoo! Steal! Everyone should get a pair of these little beauts!

As I mentioned earlier I am saving as much of my paycheck for the J fund. What is this for you might ask? Well guys, it is for J's wedding gift. I want to get him something so great! He has pampered me with the honeymoon and ring of my dreams so I really want to get him a fantastic gift! What do you guys think? Any ideas on the totally awesome gift I should get him?
Today was a fun day, but I am glad to be resting now. It will be really nice to rest up tomorrow for a long shift (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) at work on Saturday! Even though it is long, I am still excited, I love my job! What are you guys doing this weekend? Well whatever you do please be safe! Have a good one!

Wedding book and Thank you notes

I have been running around in the rain all day and now finally the sun has come out! But, the rain was a nice addition to the cool weather we have been having. I had to go to Hobby Lobby to pic up some mat board for my Graphic Design project, then I picked up some paper for some thank you notes I wanted to make, wanna see? Ok!

I thought they turned out ok...this is one of my favorite things to do. Making thank you notes, stationary, holiday cards, grocery lists, etc. I love decorating them and making them personal and interesting. It truly is a world of fun for me, I know I am a nerd.
It's kind of the same thing with my wedding book, I now have all the information that needs to be filled out as our wedding plans proceed. Whoo hoo! Take a look!

So here is the front, which you all have seen before...and...an Izze soda, yumm! If you can't tell from my Thank You notes and my wedding book, I love ribbon. Anywho, the yellow/polka-dot ribbon and the blue ribbon keep the book closed and the white ribbon are my tabs to turn to different sections of the book.

This is the "Priorities" section, there are four other sections, color coded of course (it's funner that way) and each ribbon is a tab for a different section in the wedding book. Pretty simple!

Ok so...I love the Toyota Prius commercial so much! I love the people, but I especially love the cover of "Harmony" Whoo hoo! So fun! Check it out here! Well tonight is studying, I have a Graphic Design test on Thursday and I am watching 10 Things I Hate About You on ABC Family at 7. Exciting? You bet your bottom dollar. Have a good one!

Wedding Weekend!

Ok so...as I mentioned before, I FOUND MY DRESS! Hooray!! It is perfect and wonderful, I absolutely adore it. Sadly, I couldn't take "my precious" (picture me saying that in the creepy thing from Lord of the Ring's voice...you know..."my precious") home with me because it needed to be altered and fit to me...just like a glove, so my dress will not be at home with me until November. I guess, I will sweep in some bridal portraits in between all of that time. So this weekend I found my dress and got to spend some quality time with my family. I love hanging with my mom, she is always such a blast. Also, the always darling and sweet Mrs. Kim...I am blessed with the sweetest new family. I am so thankful! My sister, who was soo sick all day because she is PREGO! But, her presence made my day even that more perfect. And finally, my best friend Brooke! She basically flew to get there and I couldn't be anymore appreciative.

Mrs. Kim gave me a really interesting present...actually it's totally awesome! Can you guess what it is?

Don't feel bad if you can't figure it out...I had to ask. This is a one of the most creative and interesting presents I have ever received. My engagement ring taking number one and my tea ball taking number 2. This is a kaleidoscope. Yes! Pretty cool! huh?

Take a look at that! I think it is pretty cool! It is really nifty when it's spinning but, I couldn't spin and take a picture. It's is beautiful and now it is one of my favorite things to do; sitting in my chair and spinning my kaleidoscope.

Even though my weekend was one of the best, I did make a huge boo boo. When my mom, sister, and I go back to LR I realized that I didn't have my keys. After panicking for about 3 minutes Mrs. Kim found them and brought them to me. This totally changed the course for her trip, but she was so sweet and nice about helping me. Mrs. Kim again, I am sooo sooo sorry and thank you for bringing my keys to me, your great!

Oh! Today, I got my new shirts from Firefly! Whoo Hoo! Official shirts, I think I might Tie Dye the white one...not sure, but maybe!

Top Ten Events of the Weekend:
10. Actually feeling like I am marrying J :) Good Feeling.
9. P.F. Chang's Lettuce Wraps :)
8. Cleaning and organizing my room...just downsizing excess
7. Brooke and Kelsey time
6. Getting to see my sister and her cute baby bump
5. My kaleidoscope
4. Mrs. Kim in general
3. My mom in general
2. Lowe's Bridal
1. My wedding dress.
What did you guys do this weekend? I hope you all had a great weekend full of excitment! Have a good evening!

Sorry so quick!

I'll post a detailed story of this weekend asap...I'm a little busy with school and I am going to have to cover for a girl at work today so, I will be working until 6 today! Have a good one!

Whoo! Finally Some Rest!

Whoo! Guys! This week has been GO GO GO! My Graphic Design class is quite demanding, I had two projects due this week back to back. In fact, it has been so busy this week that I have been unable to run this whole week and I don't see how I am going to be able to get it in by the weeks' end. Our first assignment had four elements that were completely unrelated to each other. So basically, they were four separate projects. Then yesterday after our critique we had Assignment #2 assigned and it was due...Today. Ah! But, thankfully I made it out alive. Here are a few things that have been getting me through this wretchedly insane week.
Yummy...Sparkling Pomegranate Izze. So good. Basically, this a 100% juice drink with sparkling water added in. Therefore, it is an organic soda, which makes for a great drink, I have had a couple of these throughout the week and after I have one I automatically feel better. You should try it! Highly recommended! I also like Sparkling Grapefruit, yummo.

It's always nice to have a nice place to rest your head. After a long day it was nice to always come home to this feathery friend.

This was a full bag at the beginning of the week. Now, only two left...what does that say about my high stress level calming solutions? Candy is always a good relaxer.

Also my music was a soother, gotta love Amos Lee, Alison Kraus, the Juno soundtrack, Joshua Radin, and the always reliable James Taylor for a good stress detox.

Finally, How could I have made it without this cool guy? Thanks for your encouragement Josh! I love you!

Today after class I have decided to spend a lot of down time watching movies...You've Got Mail is playing as we speak...reading and doing a little shopping. Tonight I am going to dinner with a friend, whoo hoo!! Girl Time! I am excited!
Tomorrow, I'll get to relax a little in the morning which will be nice, but I really can't wait for the evening. My mom and sister will be here tomorrow afternoon and Josh's mom, Mrs. Kim, will be here tomorrow evening. Why are these people coming in to see me you might ask? Well, Saturday is the I Ching, The Grand Poo Pa, The Great Bambino of days. Saturday...I am going to get my wedding dress! Ah! Hooray! So excited. My dear friend Brooke, my darling mother, my sweet soon-to-be mother-in-law and my ever stylish sister will be joining me on the quest for the perfect white dress. I can't believe it is actually here, hooray! If you would like to see my dress after I get it email me at kelsey.scroggins@gmail.com and I'll send you pics. I would put them up on my blog, but I do not trust J not to look.
Well guys not only have I not been a great blogger this week, but I most likely won't be this weekend! I am extraordinarily busy, but I hope to have a very interesting and fun post after this weekend! Have a great weekend!

Mommy-Daughter Time

Sorry for the lack of post the past few days, but I have been in good ole' Magnolia! I spent the weekend with my Mom, we had such a blast, my Mom is...hysterical. Quick recap:
Thursday-Drive home, hang out while Mom went and ate crab legs with Ann, car issue (yes, I have another issue), grabbed a few movies...Last Chance Harvey, Revolutionary Road, and He's Just Not That Into You, we watched Last Chance Harvey
Friday-Get up for coffee and biscotti and a little TV before hitting the pool at Mrs.Tracy's. I read most of the day, sadly just my Graphic Design text. Then we went home and watched Revolutionary Road, depressing.
Saturday-Headed to Texarkana where mom bought a good amount of clothes. She rarely does that and she got some really cute clothes. I also got some really cool things as well. Mom also got the new Amos Lee CD which is a double wammy because I have been desiring that CD for awhile.
Oh...Mom...you're hilarious.

These are my yummy new lotions compliments of Mother! MMM...I suggest everyone invest in these little beauts asap! I love mint lotions, they are refreshing and cooling. The tall green bottle is Mentha Body vitamin lotion by C.O. Bigelow and the small tub is Lemon and Pomegranate (you guys know how I feel about POM) Body Cream, also by C.O. Bigelow. Get some asap! So nice!

This is also a nice gift from Mom this weekend! I have wanted this top for awhile but, can you see the price tag? Look really close. That's right $7.95, doesn't that make it even more worth it! I think so.

Well everyone, this is where I'll spending the whole evening. Yes, no running tonight way to much homework. I have alot of catching to do on my Graphic Design project. What are you doing tonight? Lounging on your comfy bed doing homework? I sure hope not. Have a good night!

Sweet Sheets!

Hello! How about a quick little post before bed? I have been spending most of today on homework (drawing lines in different values and sizes causing the image to look "warped" and configuring my initials in an interesting way. For fun I added "B" instead of "S") and laundry. I usually wash my sheets every 2 weeks because I adore the smell of clean sheets, but I have been a little behind on my washings because the last two weekends have been a tad bit out of control. So, I redeemed myself today by washing my sheets and my big white fur (not really) blanket.
I told ya! I really love clean sheets! They're part of my "few favorite things"
I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow! What are you doing? Huge plans?

Marvelous Monday

My first day at Firefly Pottery went amazing! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful job, the Lord has blessed. Defiantly. Today, I learned about the proper paints, practiced an introductory speech, kind of...but not really...learned the cash register, stabbed my self with a piece of the kennel, (Which my boss replied, "Haha! Yay! You officially work here"...I had to ask for a band-aide, my finger wouldn't stop bleeding. It was pretty funny.) learned how to glaze pieces of work, and learned how to scrape the pottery. It was such a blast! How was your Monday? Any interesting events?
This will have to be a short post as I am heading to bed, because I have another big day tomorrow. I am going to class at 8:00 a.m., bummer. But, my teacher is really nice and her lectures are really informative. Whoo hoo! Graphic Design 1!! Then I have to run by Text Book Brokers to pick up my text, grab some supplies and finally research some ideas for my first Graphic Design project! What are you guys doing tomorrow? I bet your not going to buy Exacto knives and Spray Mount! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the evening! I will leave with a quick verse that I skimmed through and found today it is from 1 Corinthians, it is short but it speaks bounds. I hope this inspires you as it has inspired me.

1 Corinthians 4:1 - This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Celebrate America

Do you ever feel like your body cannot possibly go on because it is so exhausted? Well, I feel like that today. I had such a wonderful weekend with J and his family, it was such a nice rest. But, question, why does vacation always seem to be so tiring? When I was thinking about all the vacations I have taken in my life I have always come home and crashed. Maybe it is just me, but that seems to be the way it works. Even though, I am tired now, I had such an amazing time with J's family, they were so welcoming and loving. Great way to spend the 4th.

I do have a disappointment though, this whole week, I only got my camera out one time for a quick snap of J and I . I will share that with you guys later on, but I am disappointed that I didn't take any pictures of me conquering my fear of open water, Mrs. Kim's Cajun potato salad, or sweet little Noah and Ryan. I have realized that I am the absolute worst traveling blogger. Anytime I travel I never take pictures, I mean who travels and doesn't take pictures? I guess I do, next trip I will bring back a plethora of pictures. It's a must.

Here's a breakdown of the past week:

Tuesday: 5:15 a.m. beginning my day, leaving by 6:00 a.m. to head to MO. I arrived at about 1:00 p.m. for lunch in the car as J and I headed to Kirksville. J played a quick round of golf with one of his best friends Kyle while I attempted to drive the golf cart. NEWS FLASH: Driving on the green is a major no-no. A quick trip home so J can change and get ready for his softball game, I mean games, at 6. J played two games while I got to hang with my good friend Kendra and her sweet baby Chase. After the games, we finally got to see Mr. Wayne and Mrs. Kim, J and I had a quick dinner then it was off to bed.

Wednesday: Morning about 7:45, cereal, coffee, and TV. Then we did some stuff, but I really can't remember...OH!!! J and I went and got some fireworks! Can you believe I didn't even take pictures of that? J bought me some sparklers (my fav.) while he purchased a 27 dollar explosive that was in the shape of the Terminator's head. Strange. Then dinner with friends and the lighting of fireworks.

Thursday: This was a big day. Mrs. Kim and I went to get pedicures and on the way we stopped by a home interior store to buy one of her friends a house warming present. J has the sweetest mom, she bought me my favorite candle, "Birds of Paradise", mmm so good. Then we tanned and got pedicures, followed by lunch! So much fun! Then I met up with J and we went and watched a movie that he picked out. He really picked it out because he knew I wanted to watch it, he is the best. I appreciate him so much. Anywho we watched "He's Just Not That Into You", J fell asleep, I cried. Then we had an awesome dinner and headed to the ball park for some more softball. Followed by Sonic drinks and fireworks with Chad and Kendra. Then, night-night, we need rest to be ready to leave the next morning for the lake.

Friday and Saturday: Pretty much, relaxing on the lake. J played a round of golf in the rain and I read every Good Housekeeping magazine in the house. We spent the Saturday on and off the lake, but I think we would both admit that we were pretty pooped and ready for nap by the time the weekend was over.

Today I drove home and now I am curled up with my heating pad, laptop, and tea, watching "Catch and Release" go ahead and say it J..."Girlie, you are a creature of habit".

So tell me...What was the best thing about your 4th of July weekend? Fireworks, food, company? I'll end with the top 10 moments of the weekend:

10. Sparklers in J's driveway

9. Beyonce sing along -- "If you like it then you should of put a ring on it!"

8. Chai Latte Shakes.

7. J falling asleep while I watched "He's Just Not That Into You"

6. Cajun potato salad with hot dogs, Cole slaw, veggies, and watermelon

5. Hounds swimming.

4. Getting to talk wedding plans :)

3. Sunday's anyone?

2. Conversations, for example:

J: Are you OK?

me: Yes, I am good. I am the same way I was when you asked me 5 min. ago

J: Really? You seem...

me: Josh, I am good. I swear.

J: You swear?

Then we lock pinkies and kiss our hands.

1. Conquering open water. It's not really conquered just, accomplished.

Here's the picture I promised and a tune from the always wonderful Amos Lee, I got a lot of him this weekend. He is one of J's favorites and I love him too, so good. Btw, if you have time to say a little prayer for me that would be amazing, I am starting my new job and class tomorrow. I'm excited/nervous...more excited than nervous. Have a good day!

Holy Cow! Check these cool cats out! They must be really cool.
